CAT Intruder lifts Caterpillar in Pakistan despite COVID intrusion
The end of 2020 is upon us. If we look back at the year there is nothing much worth remembering or cherishing. The threat of the pandemic to begin with and the actual fallout in the middle of the year left everyone helpless. From the suffering of the common man to the crumbling of national and international markets, the calendar year will go down in human history as one of the bleakest and nightmarish times. As every cloud has a silver lining, some brands did manage to cling to that silver thread. CAT is one such brand that survived the scare by launching CAT Intruder.
In the retail market, footwear is one of those segments that was hit the hardest during the year. With rising inflation and retail stores kept shut most of the year brands like Bata, Stylo, Ndure, among others have not sold enough pairs to reach even closer to their yearly targets. Online shopping trends, although rising, did not make up for the losses in most categories. CAT Intruder on the other hand was taken with arms wide open. The successful launch of this sneaker was enough to keep the CAT revenue stream flowing.

The fact that CAT Intruder appeals to a larger audience could be one of the reasons for its success. Its bold curves and intriguing color contrast take one back to the 90s, the era of entertainment and sports. The era before 9/11. The time before people could roam around freely without being restricted in the name of security.
Social media hype is another reason why CAT Intruder has been the talk of the town. Celebrities like Faysal Qureshi and Shahroz Sabzwari wore the shoes and shared the pics on their social media pages. Faysal was also spotted hosting his show wearing a pair of CAT Intruder. Instagram can be singled out as one platform that did the bidding for the brand. It has almost replaced Facebook and other social networks when it comes to sharing fashion and style.
Firhaj Footwear Private Limited is the only authorized/licensed distributor of CAT Footwear in Pakistan. according to its management, the brand performed well during the year despite the Coronavirus Pandemic. Intruder’s launch in Pakistan coincided with its global launch and according to CAT Category Manager Kashif Khan, this was the reason why Intruder got all the attention and hype.
