Fawad Khan to revive his career with the Legend of Maula Jatt

BY ALI NAQVI –

Shoaib Mansoor’s Khuda Kay Liye was the debut of Fawad Khan that jump-started his acting career. He was not popular as EP’s lead vocalist and neither did he become a star sensation right after his first film. His solid acting was not rightfully recognized until his few hit drama serials namely Humsafar and Zindagi Gulzar Hai.

Working in Bollywood is considered a stamp of success for Pakistani actors and singers. Fawad Khan emerged as a star with just a few films across the border. A very few actors in Pakistan enjoyed the celebrity status that Fawad Khan earned for himself. He became one of the highest paid celebrities for TV commercials. Elevating himself to the level of a film star Fawad Khan turned a blind eye to the small screen but later, unfortunately for him, Pakistani actors were barred from working in India.

If we look at the past few years Fawad has not done any project neither for film nor for the silver screen. His appearance in ad campaigns are few and far between. In the recent past Pepsi Battle of the Bands is his only work of some value.

Maula Jatt starring Fawad Khan will hit cinemas on Eidul Fitr 2020.

Now, the career of Fawad Khan is in real jeopardy. He is in a dire need of a hit project to reclaim his position as the top celebrity in Pakistan. Maula Jatt 2 could do for Fawad Khan what Meray Paas Tum Ho did for Humayun Saeed. The name of Maula Jatt is in itself a recipe of success. Mustafa Quershi and Sultan Rahi starrer Mula Jatt is one of the classics and the biggest box office hits of Pakistan’s cinema history.

At a time when Fawad was hopping to revive his career with Maula Jatt 2, the film was stuck in the legal battle. The good news for Fawad’s fans is that the movie has been cleared to be released across Pakistan. The owner of Bahoo Films, Sarwar Bhatti who produced the Maula Jatt in 1979, settled the dispute out of court without taking any monetary rewards. According to Sarwar Bhatti, he made the decision to support and revive the film industry in Pakistan.

Maula Jatt 2 will be hitting cinemas on Eidul Fitr. There are high hopes and great expectations from the film as Both Fawad and Hamza Ali Abbasi will be reprising the most challenge roles of their lives especially for Fawad Khan whose whole career will be depending on the Legend of Maula Jatt.
