Hyundai Elantra, the 2000cc sedan will not fade into oblivion

The automobile industry has been buzzing with life despite all odds. The launch of several SUVs and hatchbacks along with speculations of EVs (electric vehicles) storming the market kept the people interested. The launch of Hyundai Elantra is yet another bang in the automobile industry.

Hyundai Elantra is going to be the only 2000cc sedan in the current market. The car produces 154 hp with a 6-speed Auto Transmission.

The sedan looks impressive as far as the first look goes. The exterior is conspicuous with diamond cuts at the front of the car. The black grill with a garnish of chrome makes it stylish and graceful. DRLs are becoming a standard feature in sedans above 1.5 liters. Hyundai Elantra also comes with DRLs complimented by Tetra LED lamps.

Sunroof and a shark-fin antenna occupy the top of the car. At the back, things get even better. The spoiler-shaped trunk becomes more pronounced by the shape of the tail-light giving the car a very unique look.

Coming to the interior, the car has nothing special to offer. Apart from a couple of new features, the car does not show much to defeat the mighty Corolla and magnificent civic. Some of the highlighting interior features of Hyundai Elantra include Push Start Button, Auto Headlights and Auto Rain Sensors, Rear AC Vents, Telescopic, and Conventional Steering Adjustments, 10-Way Powered Seat for driver, Two-Way Lumbar Support seat for the front passenger, ISOFIX for child seat among others.

Dual Zone Digital Climate Control is most certainly the industry first for Hyundai Elantra. Elantra also offers dual airbags that make the car a safer vehicle to drive.

The sedan looks promising, yet in comparison with the other options available Elantra would have to do more to create its place in the market. The plus point right now for Hyundai is delivery time. Both Toyota and Honda take too long to deliver. Meanwhile, Hyundai can lure impatient customers into buying Elantra with their minimal delivery time. Price point could also be a major factor to keep Elantra in play.

It remains to be seen how the car performs on the road and in the minds of the end-users. The situation is changing fast. The fiscal budget of 2021-2022 may hold various surprises, pleasant or otherwise, for the automobile industry of Pakistan.
